Deep Tissue Massage
Affects the sub-layer of musculature and fascia. These techniques require advanced training and a more thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology.
Fascia is a thin tissue that covers all the organs of the body, every muscle, and every fiber within each muscle. Injured muscle fiber causes short, tight fibers and tension in the fascia, extending pain throughout the myofascial structure, sometimes causing pain far from the original site. Myofascial Release stretches and releases the fascia of these Myofascial Trigger Points, guided by feedback that the therapist feels from the patient’s body.
